The Fabulous Feet Dance Studio is now in its 24th year. Whether you are looking for something fun to do once a week or you're more serious and want to become a professional dancer, Fabulous Feet is the place to go.

DIRECTOR

Melissa Miller-Port

     Melissa, past-president of Dance Masters of America chapter #39 is certified by test to teach. She has studied dance seriously since the age of five under the direction of David DeMarie. She has also taken master classes with Gus Giordano, Betsy Haug, Brian Foley, the infamous Tom Ralabate, and others. She was crowned Miss Dance D.M.A. Chapter #8. She has also competed in and won highest scores in national competitions. Melissa taught for DeMarie from 1979-1986. At that point, she went on to tour with Greg Thompson Productions, and has performed all over the world including Philadelphia, Atlantic City, New York, Reno, Toronto, and Bermuda. Since opening the Fabulous Feet Dance Studio, Melissa’s students have achieved top honors in many competitions, including high score, Dancer of the Year, Performance Groups and Duo’s of the Year and many first place awards. Other students have gone on to dance professionally, with Greg Thompson Productions and other producers and dance companies. The great success of her students has brought the Fabulous Feet Dance Studio to a high that makes all of its students proud to be “Fabulous Feet dancers.”
Melissa served on the National Board of Dance Masters of America. She has also been on the National Judges Panel for DMA. She was the future planning director of DMA as her teaching skills, studio “know-how” and assertive attitude are the things she is recognized for. Melissa absolutely loves working with young children, as they love working with her.

FACULTY

Casey Roy
    Casey started taking dance lessons from Melissa Miller in the 4th grade and continued until she started high school. She was fortunate enough to be able to be a representative for Fabulous Feet Dance Studio at the Northwest Competitions twice, traveling to Portland and then Tacoma. Her dance background played an important role in winning a position on the Cheerleading Squad at Eastmont High School. After High School, Casey went back to dance and took tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop and taught all styles. Casey won second-highest over all with her solo performance. She taught Jazz and Aerobics for 3 years in Montana and then returned to Wenatchee. For the last three years she had the pleasure of assisting and teaching classes at Fabulous Feet.

Tacia Medrano
   Tacia Medrano has been dancing at Fabulous Feet for 17 years. She has been taught by many of the top choreographers in the world. She has won numerous awards such as: judge’s choice awards, top 10 awards and a scholarship award in New York City. She recently was awarded a scholarship from JUMP! The Alternative Convention and Monsters of Contemporary for her exceptional work in Jazz and Contemporary. She has been on a national dance team that traveled and performed in Paris as well as dancing on two cruise ships! Tacia has been a teacher for 3 years at Fabulous Feet. She really enjoys helping others learn and improve on what they do. Tacia’s incredible musicality works to her advantage in choreography and we are proud to have her as a part of the Faculty.

Crash Ketcham

   Crash has been dancing since the age of 10. He intensively studied hip-hop and other subjects. On stage he is electrifying! His dedication to the arts is amazing! Crash and his group have won numerous high score awards and the highest overall award twice as well as Best Choreography. Last year his solo received a Platinum award and he took home two scholarships from JUMP! The Alternative Convention and was invited on stage to Perform with some of the members of So You Think You Can Dance and Michael Jackson’ This is it! While Crash is studying in Austria this year, he has choreographed routines for Fabulous Feet and his connection with the studio will remain intact throughout the year.

 

Alexa Travis

   Alexa has been dancing with the Fabulous Feet Dance Studio since she was 6 years old. She has been trained in all styles including ballet, lyrical, tap, jazz and hip hop. Alexa helps us out at the studio by being a substitute teacher when needed and working in the office on a daily basis to help the studio run smoothly.

Shawna Shelton

   Shawna started her dancing career with Fabulous Feet One! She has studied all styles and competed in competitions across the country receiving numerous overall awards. She has taken master classes in New York and in LA from various teachers such as Patsy Swayze and Mia Michaels. Shawna has also completed 3 years of intense teacher training through Dance Masters of America to hone in her natural ability to teach. As a teacher she has been awarded for her outstanding choreography. Shawna’s particularly gifted with amazing rhythm and is well known for her inspired choreography. We are thrilled to have Shawna on the Fabulous Feet Faculty!

Katie Long

Katie Long

   Fabulous Feet is proud to welcome Katie Long to the faculty. Katie has been dancing since the age of 3 and has studied Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Contemporary at Elite School of Dance in Puyallup, WA. Katie competed at various local and national competitions and received top honors. She also worked with the local dance team and also has cheerleading experience. Katie’s favorite thing is to work with young dancers and pass on her passion and love of dance. Katie feels that through dance all children can learn discipline and confidence.

Kristin Oberding

   Kristin is very excited to be a part of the Fabulous Feet family! She has been dancing for over 16 years, and specializes in hip-hop and jazz. As a four-year member of her high school's varsity dance team, Kristin routinely placed in all competitions, and was crowned State Champion in Drill Down her senior year. Kristin went on to study hip-hop, jazz, and modern at the University of Oregon, where she also served as captain and choreographer for the Jam Squad, UO's hip-hop team. Kristin also taught hip-hop and jazz at the West Linn Dance Center in her hometown of Portland, Oregon. Currently, Kristin is a member of the One More Time Around Again alumni dance team and serves as a technical judge for the Dance/Drill Coaches Association of Oregon. Kristin’s routines in the recital were energetic and very clean, she is an extremely thorough teacher.

Jessica Monette

   Jessica Monette danced at Fabulous Feet all of her life. She has been teaching for 10 years and loves high energy classes! Jessica competed both locally and nationally and is a powerful performer! Jessica is looking forward to an exciting 24th season of dance at Fabulous Feet.

Trisha Miller

   Trisha was born and raised at Fabulous Feet and has danced since the age of 2. Trisha has taken master classes from Travis Wall, Sonya Tayeh, Mandy Moore, Stacey Tookey, and Dee Caspray. While competing Trisha has achieved highest overall honors and is a crowd favorite to watch. Trisha has a special gift with children and truly cares about each and every dancer. Trisha will be a dance major at the University of Buffalo in New York this fall, but has already started choreography for this year and will continue teaching at intervals throughout the year. Trisha will be back in time to perform in the recital.

Jace

Jace Pauly

   This is Jace’s 4th year at Fabulous Feet and as everyone already knows, he is a master Hip Hop dancer. Jace has competed and won top honors and been in the top 5 male dancers for the last two years at competition. His choreography is current and innovative. Jace has assisted Crash throughout the years and will take over as the new leader of the Fabulous Feet Hip Hop Crew. Fabulous Feet is honored to welcome Jace to the faculty.
